As a Senior Android Engineer on the Kickbase product team, you own features end to end, from technical design to release and beyond. You set the bar for quality and performance in our Android app, mentor the engineers around you and help shape how we build product. You'll quickly build a deep understanding of our product, its core components, and the workflows and technology behind it. Ready for the next level? 🚀
ENGINEERING
Own complex features end to end: technical design, implementation, testing and release
Make architectural decisions and keep our codebase healthy, scalable and well tested
Drive the ongoing move from XML Views to Jetpack Compose
Keep the app fast, stable and smooth, with a focus on performance, animations and crash-free sessions
Review merge requests and give clear, constructive feedback
Work closely with iOS, backend, design, product and QA to ship features across platforms
Continuously improve your work processes with AI
LEADERSHIP
Mentor intermediate and junior engineers, and be their first point of contact for technical guidance
Question existing processes and improve how we build and ship product
Contribute to defining and achieving quarterly OKRs alongside the management team
Help build a culture of constructive feedback and continuous improvement
[5+] years of professional Android development, with apps shipped to production
Strong knowledge of Kotlin, including Coroutines and Flow
Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and the Android View system
Solid understanding of Android architecture (MVVM), dependency injection (Hilt/Dagger) and networking (Retrofit)
Experience with app performance optimisation, transitions and animations
A habit of writing tests and caring about stability in production
Experience mentoring other engineers or leading technical initiatives
Excellent written and spoken English
Based in Osijek, Croatia [on-site 4 days in the office]
NICE TO HAVES
Ability to read our C#/.NET backend code
Experience with sports, gaming or real-time apps
Familiarity with agile methodologies
